Mary's Testimony:

The assistance and support that Mary Jane provided my mother allowed her to stay in her own home until the last few days of her life. Mary Jane prepared meals and did light housekeeping, but more importlantly, she shared conversation, laughter and a caring spirit with Mom. While in hospice, Mom was visited by Mary Jane who maintained contact with the family after my mother's passing. Mary Jane went above and beyond to care for my mother and the communicate with and understand the needs of our family.

Sharon's Testimony:

I feel compelled to share my family's experience working with Mary Jane Wellington over the last 5 1/2 years.

We initially hired Mary Jane to care for our mother who had been released from a rehabilitation facility after falling and breaking her hip at the age of 83.  She did not heal well and ended up confined to a wheelchair yet wanted to live out her remaining days at home.

Mary Jane took care of all her needs from April 2019 until she passed away in May of 2021.

After her passing, we wanted to keep Mary Jane and her services so we hired her to take care of our father. He is now 91 and is, overall, independent, but Mary Jane ensures he eats nutritious meals daily, takes his medications, does light housekeeping, and assists with hygiene when necessary. She also grocery shops for him weekly. 

Mary Jane has been dependable, conscientious, and devoted since the very beginning.

She is calm in stressful situations and her devotion to caregiving is steadfast.

Our family continues to be vary appreciateive of all that she has done and continues to do for our parents. Her care allows us to not to worry because we know she will notify us if necessary.

We can't tank her enough and highly recommend her to others.

With the greatest confidence and heartfelt gratitude, I write this letter of reference for Mary Jane Wellington, who served as the primary caretaker for my elderly mother for more than two years.

Mary Jane was the first caretaker we ever hired for my mother, and she was very resistant to having someone come to her home to help her. I communicated this to Mary Jane, and she said, “Listen, this is not my first rodeo.” How true it was!

Mary Jane knew exactly how to talk to my Mother during that initial meeting, and from that point on, she quickly built a strong rapport with her, making her feel valued and respected. Mary Jane had genuine compassion and patience, as elderly people can be set in their ways and very resistant to change. Mary Jane always created a warm environment for my Mother, especially around the holidays, when she would decorate the house. She played music for her, prepared her meals, and took her to the most interesting places in Maine! She provided my Mother with kindness and emotional support. Mary Jane enriched my mother’s life by engaging her in daily activities. She always kept her clean, and I believe her presence brought genuine joy and comfort to my mother’s daily routine.

It is worth noting that Mary Jane cared for my mother physically and also provided invaluable emotional support to our family, giving us daily updates on what she would eat and the activities of the day. She always made sure she sent a video of my Mom and Mary Jane singing Happy Birthday to each of us on our birthday. Her ability to connect with my mother and our family on a personal level made a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for her contribution to my mother’s quality of life during her time with her. We were sad to see Mary Jane go as she took on new caretaking endeavors, but we appreciate the time my Mother had with her. we appreciate the time my Mother had with her.

I recommend Mary Jane for any caregiving role.
